You Can Help

With your support we will deliver a comprehensive program of study where students will learn through direct participation in Canadian and global communities.

Our first goal is to generate an endowment to name the Health Studies Program after Tommy Douglas. In the spirit of Tommy Douglas, our campaign seeks to encourage contributions from a broad spectrum of Canadians who hold the values of Tommy Douglas.

Your monthly contribution of $19.62 joins the many other Canadians who support the ongoing activities of the Health Studies Program.

In addition to naming the Program after Tommy Douglas, we will establish a core faculty complement for the Health Studies Program, with guaranteed long term funding. Thus we will endow and name three professorships in perpetuity.

  • The Professorship in Health and Human Rights.
  • The Professorship in Ethics and Well-Being.
  • The Professorship in Health Policy.

We also seek support for our Curriculum Development Fund to develop a number of courses and areas of student research:

  • Comparative public health and health-care systems.
  • Human rights and well-being.
  • Health of marginalized and immigrant communities.
  • Health, work and labour.

Fundamental to the Health Studies Program is support of our students. You can ensure that financial barriers to access to Ontario Universities can be mitigated by contributing to Scholarships in Health Studies.
